Which is more expensive for siding-shingles or clapboard?

o boy, don't ask about real wood around here, they'll send you to the depot! cement board is a relatively new product, cedar is proven. i would stick with cedar and as far as diy, clapboard may be the easier install. here's some links below with cedar pricing and install manuals. you will find the prices are completely different than depot prices but that's cause there are several grades of cedar. they certainly don't sell top quality at the big boxes. good luck!
